Wow, that touch interface looks so slow and clunky.

  2. ZarkaBoy says:

    i agree

  3. Mienk says:

Sorry, but the ipad is nothing but a giant knock off. Lets combine the stupid OS from the iphone/itouch with the sci-fi touch pads we’ve seen for over a decade in shows like Star Trek.

  4. usherbinladen says:

to compare this with the Ipad is just stupid!
you need to have a working computer with i tunes in order for you to buy i-pad!
U1 is already a functioning note book! so why would you wanna spend any kind of money on a large Iphone??
BTW, for entertainment purposes like watching movies ipad is really bad, you cant even watch divx or online tv that is flash based!

You know that Slate Tablets have been around for years. What “vision” and “ideas” has this stolen that are unique to the iPad?

Very, very interesting. Gives some precision on the overall gui’s market suppliers. Thanks !

I can say Nikola Tesla invented the computer circuit. I can go backwards to prove a point also.

  9. orbithesun1 says:

What I am say is that Apple tries to the technology forward.

  10. orbithesun1 says:

I ment say PowerPC for point two. PowerPC is a RISC Processor.

  11. arthmus01 says:

It was put into commercial use by Xerox with their Star, years before the Lisa.

RISC is an instruction set standard, not a processor. PowerPC was co-developed by those 3 companies, and PowerPC is a RISC architecture. PowerPC was originally developed by IBM, based on their POWER architecture. Apple and Motorola were the commercial and manufacture ends of the AIM alliance, with most of the development done by IBM.
ARM is a RISC Processor, but it has nothing to do with the PowerPC.

now THAT is what I want! a tablet, netbook hybrid is what iv been dying to see!!! too bad I have no $ for it but it would be absolutely perfect for colledge use!!!!!!

    @arthmus01

1The GUI was put into commercial use by Apple with their LISA computer.
2 RISC was a co-development project by Apple, IBM and Motorola.
3 The ARM is a RISC processor, hence the name, Acorn RISC Machine

I don’t know where to begin correcting your stupidity.

Firstly, the icon based GUI was originally developed by Xerox PARC, not Apple.

Secondly, RISC architecture existed long before the PowerPC, which was originally developed by IBM, not Apple.

Finally, neither the iPhone or the Ipad use PowerPC processors. They use ARM processors, manufactured by Samsung. The U1 uses Qualcomms Snapdragon SOC, which has the same ARM processor as the iPad.

Dragging that thing in the middle of the screen looked a bit sluggish. Browsing the albums also looked sluggish… At the point it’s probably a prototype but still, a grand ?? You can buy two iPads with that kind of money. Second half of this year ? Apple ships it out in march/april.

  17. orbithesun1 says:

No, the person who purchases this Lenovo product is the one that gets raped. Apple will do just fine.

  18. kibrorgat says:

    apple got raped HAHAHA

  19. orbithesun1 says:

I have iPhone 3GS and love it, but felt the screen is too small to have some real fun with. So, I want to be the first on line the iPad. The more people that hate the new iPad the better for me, because it puts me closer to the head of the line.

  20. Daemon101 says:

The Ipad is nothing more than a blocked selling platform for Itunes. Indeed the Ipad is a seductive product, but at the end, buyers will remain captive from their own purchase.

  21. orbithesun1 says:

Even the Linux based operating system is being copied.

  22. orbithesun1 says:

The RISC computer processor that is being used in the iPhone, iPad and the imitators where developments by Apple. The powerPC was a RISC processor.

  23. orbithesun1 says:

You have no idea what you are talking about, I switched to Apple products, it’s been more then a decade now. They are high quality products, they are user friendly and rarely if ever breakdown, in fact I still have all my old units and they still work.

Apple is responsible for bring you the icon based graphic user interface that you are using on computer right now, they are usually ahead of the curve.

  24. zackmartin00 says:

well, the 499.00 ipad only has 16 gigs of space. That is super lame. In fact, it was a deal breaker for me. It is nothing but an oversized iphone. It can’t even multi-task.

  25. kreationx says:

    wrong, $499
