| This was poised to be the first week not dominated by Apple news in some time. As it turned out, that wasn’t the case…
After a possible look at the fourth generation iPhone the leak was confirmed and cracked wide open by Gizmodo. That story exploded and branched into other stories, about Apple’s engineer who lost the device, the responsibilities of what an outlet should do with a found product, and so forth. While all this happened Apple had an important (and possibly revealing) earnings call and more issues with the iPad’s WiFi appeared.
WePad Caught on Film, Looks Terribly Clever
In other tablet news we got a little video of the German WePad in action. The Linux-powered tablet is looking like it might be a really solid experience, with a cool grid-based OS and support for USB devices. It’s not looking like a game-changer but it should be a nice choice for some users.
Microsoft Will Not Patch Windows XP if Rootkit is Present
A really interesting situation has come up for Windows users where MS is not allowing an update to be performed is a certain rootkit is present in the system. It sounds bad, but if the update won’t take the users knows something is wrong and then can act. This makes sense but, as with anything with as many users as Windows, you can’t please all the people all the time.

subject: Good Sites). Here are a couple of my faves:Octopus Steals Recording Camera
One of the most incredible videos ever to hit YouTube. The setup: a diver has his video camera, which is recording, stolen by an octopus. The cephalopod swims away but the diver pursues him and ultimately gets the camera back. Unplanned, but brilliant.
