Taiwan market: Telecom carriers give priority to Apple iPhone; other handset vendors turn to retail channels
Some branded handset vendors, including HTC and Sony Ericsson, have strengthened their cooperation with retail channels to push sales of their handsets in the Taiwan market as the top-three local telecom carriers – Chunghwa Telecom (CHT), Taiwan Mobile and Far EasTone Telecommunications (FET) – have all concentrated on the promotion of Apple’s iPhones recently, according to industry sources.
