I mentioned endlessdream94 after the other two, only because his video was shorter than theirs – that’s all. They’re all worth watching.

  2. Westsound191 says:

Maybe. I think if you get a moment (well an hour or so) have a look at two other peoples videos – DRBUK (he will be getting one) and Dragonballjiujitsu (he won’t). Others worth mentioning – endlessdream94 did a very good short video. Like I said apart from the ‘musicians guide’ I’ll be objective and leave it for everyone else to decide. I’ll look forward to your video when it is finally here & I think it’s better you waited.

Hope things go well with your shifts.

I planned on having a video ready this sunday but I did not have time. I am working 9 hour shifts 6 days a week right now with no end in sight. Maybe the video will be ready thursday.

    @aobePC (from 2)

One will be referencing a few people whose videos I feel have given objective reasons as to why they are / are not interested in the iPad. And one will be specifically about why I as a musician am interested in this product and how I feel it might benefit performers and teachers of music.

I myself only have 53 subscribers, but there may be others who have many more who might reference your video if they feel it’s objective enough.

Maybe give it some thought & make it happen.

    @adobePC (from 1)

This may then draw needed attention (which other people might make reference to). Let’s put it this way.

At the moment I don’t think I’d make much of an impact as I only have 53 subscribers. That will be set to change once I have a few more music videos up and I make myself known. But I’m going to upload a 3 part video about the iPad. One will be summarising what was said at the keynote (so people can have a list in front of them and decide for themselves) (Goto 3)

    @adobePC

Then I have a suggestion (and this is all it is, mind)

You raise a very good point. There are a lot of people out there who have iPhones who may be interested in the iPad, but who might need to do some research into how much it will cost them. I’d like to think people would be sensible enough to make informed decisions prior to purchase at the store.

Why not upload an objective video dealing with the subject of tethering so that that is the main focus (Goto 2)

  7. adobePC says:

Mtbir could have stated tethering is a needed option for some people.

  8. adobePC says:

That is all I was suggesting in my video. Not that mrbit needs it but others might want it.

  9. mrbit10 says:

*it changes nothing but the price equally across all products

  10. mrbit10 says:

well the whole point of getting the iphone was for the apps, and data access, not for minutes. So to get that specific package cost x$, for me it just became data to compare as I was asked to use a netbook with 3G and so i did the comparison, basically add any minutes plan to each and for the results it changes nothing but the price meaning it was moot to do so, for what i was comparing.

  11. mrbit10 says:

for most business calls, via bluetooth, yea, why not? In the car at the office, yep. That is if iCall sets it up. I will have my other prepaid phone for everything else.

  12. Westsound191 says:

Best talk to MrBit – I think he explained to adobe before but I haven’t been following that discussion that closely.

  13. HablaCarnage63 says:

I agree he’s planning on cheap prepaid phone. But it would help his chart to add it to all the alternative except the iPhone since it does both and really should have tethering turned on or have the same more reasonable voice and data plans.

  14. Westsound191 says:

No lol, I think he said he was going to get a cheap phone and use the iPad for other stuff.

  15. Westsound191 says:

I think mrbit did say he’d not get the iPad until the contract on his iPhone was finished and the iPhone was sold.

You’d have to talk to mrbit about the paradigm. I’m sure he knows what he’s doing, he has explained it to you & it’s really up to him what he does but I suppose there is no harm in debating it.

We are in agreement – it would work fine for some, not others. We have to be aware of other alternatives, but also be clear as to what category of device the iPad is. That’s it.

  16. DrSunnz says:

What? Are you serious? You are going to use your iPad as your primary phone??!! Its gonna to look funny to have a big glass pad thing for dialling a number!! But hey if that works for you… XD

  17. adobePC says:

Like I said there are some flaws with the paradigm. I have also stated up front that it may work just fine for some people but we also have to be aware of other alternatives. If he is using a pre paid phone he has to add that into the cost of the iPad.

  18. Westsound191 says:

As to the ‘flaws’ you see in the vid – I’m not using inverted commas to suggest that your points aren’t valid or anything, but that is something that only MrBit can answer your points on – as pricing is probably different here in the U.K. I haven’t got much into that discussion, but all I know is that I’d always consider price/productivity options before purchase.

Anyway – feel free to wander on my channel at any time for the ‘musicians guide to the iPad’ vid.

  19. Westsound191 says:

That I agree with. That is why I don’t see the iPad as that kind of device. It doesn’t have USB or Firewire and as such would not be appropriate for composing multi-tracks on. This is why I’d see no sense in having a full blown OS installed on it. iLife would need a laptop.

No, I mean I think it would be very useful for displaying music on. I also agree that when you upload these they are open for debate. It’s just a question of doing things in context that I’m concerned with.

  20. Westsound191 says:

@AdobePC – If we consider the opening of these two videos ‘mrbit10 iPad opinion’ – “What I’m going to do is give my personal opinions on it – and why I like the iPad and why it suits me whereas it may not suit you”. To me he clearly did what he set out to do in the opening, even considering the concerns and addressing them. It wasn’t intended as a straight pros and cons vid. I’m sure he’d do one of those if asked and if he felt it necessary.

Anyway I’ll look at your second vid tomorrow.

  21. adobePC says:

People will most likely point of flaws in your video if you have them nad I think they should. I am not saying you will have any flaws. While the iPad might be good for music I know my laptop was also very good for composing music. Keep in mind most laptops do have USB and Fire Wire to support the higher end external audio devices while the iPad will not.

  22. Westsound191 says:

(last 2 comments were for adobePC)

  23. Westsound191 says:

My video will be mainly focused on how I think it would benefit them in many ways. But there will also be a general view of it and a reference to other videos that give both pros and cons.

People can decide for themselves if it is a good solution for them by using many reference points – here on YT and elsewhere – and when the product is available it should give them the clearer picture.

It seems odd that you’d need to do an actual video response but it isn’t for me to tell you what to do.

  24. Westsound191 says:

Like I said it’s up to you to upload whatever you need to.

I don’t understand why you think MrBit needs to give pros and cons of the iPad when it seems to me that there are many videos describing that as it is – and from those it is becoming clearer as to who this category of device is aimed for (which I think MrBit did make clear earlier). What I’m seeing is MrBit earnestly describing how it would be useful to him – same as I’ll be doing when I describe its use for musicians.

  25. adobePC says:

Mrbit should state it is an impracticle paradigm and he does not recommend it for most people. That was not stated and some people are starting to think it is a good solution for them as well but I doubt it will be. Perhaps the Ipad is a good solution for some but like I said this video has more flaws than his original video and Mrbit should give the pros and cons. My video is not going to hurt you if you decide to watch it. My video will not focus only on mrbit.
