Nearly a month ago, federal lawmakers Edward Markey and Joe Barton wrote a letter to Apple CEO Steve Jobs expressing concern over and seeking clarification on recent changes to the company’s privacy policy as it relates to collection of real-time location data for users of its mobile devices.

Numerous threads pertaining to Consumer Reports’ testing of the iPhone 4, which found reception issues, were been removed from Apple’s official online forums Monday.
Nonprofit consumer advocacy group Consumer Reports said Monday morning that it could not recommend the iPhone 4 due to reception issues that are a result of the design of Apple’s latest handset. As first noted by TUAW, numerous threads about the news were started on Apple’s official online forums, but were quickly deleted by moderators.

Clayton Morris provides some details about the App Store ranking fraud reported over the weekend. As previously reported, developer Thuat Nguyen’s apps had been removed from the App Store after it became apparent that he was manipulating the App Store rankings by using compromised iTunes accounts to purchase his own apps.
Morris received confirmation from Apple that approximately 400 iTunes accounts were affected and that iTunes servers were not hacked in any way. The total number of iTunes users number about 150 million according to Morris. Apple is said to be increasing ...... Read more
