Report: Google, CIA fund predictive analytics firm

Recorded Future monitors traffic on Facebook, Twitter, news sites, blogs, and other sites to help companies connect the dots between people, places, and events. Google Ventures and In-Q-Tel, the investment arm of the CIA, have provided funding to a company that monitors all the noise on the Web looking for connections between people, groups, and events, according to Wired. The company, Recorded Future, offers a Temporal Analytics Engine for predictive analysis, allowing people to “visualize the future, past, or present.” In addition, In-Q-Tel and Google Ventures both have seats ...... Amazon today sparked a mystery by running out of stock of the six-inch Kindle. In the first shortage since 2009, the reader is not only listed as unavailable but doesn’t have an estimated in-stock date. Google updates News site following complaints

The feature lets people opt to view news stories in two columns, unlike the initial redesign that listed all stories in a single long column. Google countering iAds with interactive video adverts on the web

Seeing Apple’s iAds popping up in iOS apps, Google reckoned it should take a more aggressive stance in order to protect its not-so-dominant share of display adverts on the web.
