Coinciding with the release, Apple updated its Web site to show off “a whole new world of apps” created specifically for the device. Apple has updated their website with a large banner declaring “iPad is Here”. Apple has posted hands on videos with several of the launch applications including The Elements, Marvel Comics, The Wall Street Journal, Epicurious, At Bat 2010 and several more. When Apple announced the iPad at the end of January, it was met with both excitement and contempt. There had been so many rumors leading up to the announcement that it was guaranteed to leave somebody disappointed. One of the questions leading up to the event was “How would it connect to the internet?” WiFi seemed to be a given, but lots of people hoped there would be a 3G option as well. Today, the company is offering gamers their first look at actual in-game footage from their brand new horror game, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, due in August for the Mac, PC and Linux. Looks like cloud iTunes, a web-based iTunes software that’s allegedly in the works, is coming along pretty well. In the past three months Apple has enabled browser-based previews for iTunes music, TV shows, movies, and iPhone applications via a dedicated iTunes Preview section of its homepage.
