What will it take to carry Appleís torch after Jobs?

By Gary, August 1, 2010 2:00 am

Recently, critics of Microsoft’s decision-makers have called on the company’s CEO, Steve Ballmer, to step down and give someone else with fresh ideas the opportunity to set the company’s direction. It’s a call that has been running through Redmond for years. And just as before, it won’t be enough to get Ballmer out of there. Perhaps, then, it’s time to turn our attention to Cupertino and Apple. For years, there has been speculation over CEO Steve Jobs’ health. Is he fully capable of running his company? Over the past year, Jobs has made it clear that he is now healthy and he is ...... Is this what Steve Jobs really wanted to say about iPhone 4 complaints?

By Gary, July 23, 2010 5:58 pm

You could tell by watching the short clip of Steve Jobs someone posted that he was really upset, even holding back his anger at having to give away free cases to iPhone 4 owners. Apple really don’t believe there is a big problem, and Steve did well to stay calm and try to appease his critics. But what if the gloves came off? What if Steve could say exactly what he was feeling? Well, CollegeHumor has had a stab at creating an alternative iPhone 4 press conference. How close do you think they are to what he was really thinking? Coll...... Read more

The iPhone 4 news is being reported all around the world as Apple has its products in most markets. While in the West we have a range of reporting styles and coverage from both sides of the arguments over the current iPhone 4 problems. In Taiwain, however, we get the video you see above. Jobs: Let’s give everybody a case (video)

By Gary, July 17, 2010 4:59 pm

Here is a bit of video from today’s iPhone antenna event. In fact it was the high point of the event, when Steve Jobs noted the Consumer Reports study and said every iPhone 4 user is going to get a free case. People that already bought bumpers will get a free refund. The offer lasts until September 30th, at which point Apple will reevaluate the situation. And because Apple can’t make enough bumper cases to keep up with iPhone 4 sales (plus the number of iPhones that have already been sold) buyers will get the option to have to Ap...... Read more

Watch Steve Jobs deconstruct Antennagate

By Gary, July 17, 2010 11:59 am

That was super-fast: Just minutes following an announcement addressing the iPhone 4 antenna woes, Apple published full video stream of the media conference on its site. Since we normally have to wait up to 24 hours for Apple’s event videos, the urgency accompanying this one speaks volumes about the desire to put this whole ordeal behind them. This is the event you don’t want to miss. If there ever was a need to crank up the reality-distortion field, today was the day. There’s nothing more exhilarating (well, in tech PR) than wa......
