Apple has promoted an executive in what could be some of its earliest steps towards handling CEO Steve Jobs’ succession, a report claimed this evening. Here is a bit of video from today’s iPhone antenna event. In fact it was the high point of the event, when Steve Jobs noted the Consumer Reports study and said every iPhone 4 user is going to get a free case. People that already bought bumpers will get a free refund.

That was super-fast: Just minutes following an announcement addressing the iPhone 4 antenna woes, Apple published full video stream of the media conference on its site.
