Hackers to flock to Black Hat, Defcon this week

Last year, a security researcher was forced to cancel his talk scheduled for two hacker conferences about weaknesses in ATM software after the ATM vendor complained. This year the talk is back on the agenda for Black Hat and Defcon, which run Wednesday and Thursday, and Friday through Sunday, respectively, in Las Vegas. “I’ve always liked the scene in “Terminator 2″ where John Connor walks up to an ATM, interfaces his Atari to the card reader and retrieves cash from the machine. Apple bravely bringing iPhone 4 and its faulty antenna to 14 new countries this Friday

The same iPhone 4 model complete with the problematic antenna design that’s currently selling in the US, UK, Germany, Japan, and France will be on offer in 14 new international markets. Apple hasn’t yet figured out how to fix the antenna design past the free bumpers and taller signal bars but is proceeding with the planned international rollout as any problems the phone has been having hasn’t seemed to negatively impact sales. You could tell by watching the short clip of Steve Jobs someone posted that he was really upset, even holding back his anger at having to give away free cases to iPhone 4 owners.
